The extensive grounds of the Tea House Cottage are well kept but not manicured so that you have the feeling of a very natural environment. This is a large country property with lush green foliage, vast blue sky and ocean views from many locations. There are trails to explore too. Take a 2-1/2 mile loop walk or drive a short distance from the cottage to visit waterfall pools for swimming.

On the property you can also visit the Tibetan Buddhist stupa that was built by Lama Gyatrul Rinpoche in 1976. It was recently restored and is a lovely place to view sunrise, sunset, or the moon. The views from the stupa are spectacular overlooking the ocean and Haleakala crater.

There are 40 varieties of palms on the property and many other exotic tropical plants. You can have your own freshly cut coconut to enjoy as well. |
From the cottage there is also a lovely view of the ocean through palm trees. Actually views abound in every direction. You can also barbecue, picnic and stroll the grounds. You could easily spend the day sunning or resting in the hammock, so south seas, and it supports two adults comfortably. |

I had neglected the orchids. This year I fed them and put some in the trees. This catalaya rewarded me with a single huge blossom which lasted a month. |
